Freshman & New Student Orientation

Hello 9th Grade Parents! We are very excited that your child will be attending McClintock High School, and we look forward to seeing them at our 9th Grade Orientation Day on July 22, 2025 at 7:30am in the gym. Our Link Crew Program will help get your 9th grader off to a great start!
 

WHAT IS LINK CREW? Link Crew is a nationwide program designed to welcome and support 9th graders by connecting them with Link Leaders, who are positive, responsible, hand-selected 11th and 12th graders. Your student’s Link Leaders will help them feel more comfortable as well as help them achieve success in their first year of high school. Doesn’t that sound great? It is!

 

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

1. Your child will receive an invitation sent via email to orientation. If they attended Connolly Middle School, some have already received it! If they have not received the invitation by July 21st, please email Ms. McLaughlin @ mmclaughlin@tuhsd.k12.az.us.

2. A day or two before orientation, your child will also receive a phone call or text message from their Link Crew Leader personally inviting them to orientation day and giving the details of where to be and what time. The Leaders can also answer any questions they may have.

3. Your student is encouraged not to bring backpacks, purses or similar items as the day is quite active.

4. Because the day is active, please make sure that your student wears comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement. Also, please make sure to bring water!

5. Cell phone use is limited on this day.

 

This is a student only function so we encourage you to let your child attend on their own. If your child has circumstances that require special attention and help, please reach out to us so we can make sure they are taken care of. We look forward to a great orientation day!
